the maximum amount of displayable info on your radar is displayed regardless of your equipped compass quality. brass compass was selected in buildsettings, if relevant.

Can anyone confirm that one?

Checked this with brass compass selected and had same issue - equiped cheap compass gives the large display in the top right corner. No compass in inventory or equiped does the same. The little compass in the bottom left no longer appears in the start of the standard storyline or in the stormy start we only get the large one now.
All in direct sailing mode.

This applies to all selection of compass type in the "Advanced Options" screen and starting a new game. Tried for stock compass and orange compass.

What if you change the "Display Battleinterface" setting in Advanced Options?
Looks like it's on by default, which I once did at Hook's suggestion, because the off version didn't work.
But now that we've merged with Pirate_KK's work, I think it actually does work alright now.
I'm going to change to off-by-default for the next release again.
That's the intentional setting anyway.

This works then? Can you also confirm that the interface now DOES always correspond with your compass?
Because I used to see occasionally like the small interface in the bottom left,
but still had the cannons quantities on the upper right.
That might've been fixed since I put in some of KK's code though.
