I found a solution on the internet, so it's working now. Thanks very much, this seems to be a GREAT tool.
Now all we need is some people to use it and fill up those crewless ships!
As a test, I took the Amsterdam PotC walk file, converted it to SAILORSPOINTS, then converted the converted file back to PotC walk.
Then I used WinMerge to check the differences and based on that I dare say that it works as it should!
See attached for the files I made in testing. -

AGH! I still get an error on that "COMDLG32.OCX" file, even though it's right there in the program's folder.
Does anyone have any thoughts on that one? I get the opening dialog, but then it goes all crashy on me.
I'm using Windows 7.
An AoP>PotC rope converter would probably be a lot more complicated because it'd have to read the GM format somehow.
However, this is not too hard to do manually; just open the GM file and change the locator type names.
The only issue with the ropes is that PotC doesn't support the hanging ropes type and AoP/CoAS does. -

Are you having issues loading your pre-Patch 3.1 saves?
Or are you having issues loading your Patch 3.1 saves as well?
Although I think that Patch 1 saves should work in Patch 2 and Patch 3/3.1, I'm not sure this will be always the case.
If you cannot use your earlier saves, I'm afraid you have to start a new game OR reinstall the last version where your saves DID still work. -

There's no battles between nations in DirectSail, but I reckon we should add that some time. It only makes sense, doesn't it?
When overshooting, are you firing chainshot or other ammunition?
Chainshot is automatically aimed higher than other types of ammo.
